Products and compatibility
What exactly does Nova-FIS do?
It shows what you choose on the small original display in your instrument cluster (the “FIS”): your own text first, with more information being looked into. You set it up from your phone.
Is my car compatible?
We're aiming at VAG group models from 1998 to 2006. Right now, only the Audi TT 8N is being tested: other models haven't been checked yet. Tell us your car in the questionnaire. It helps us choose the next ones.
What if my head unit isn't the original one?
Nova-FIS plugs into the original head unit's connector. Replaced radios haven't been looked at yet. Mention it in the questionnaire and we'll see how many of you are in that situation.
What's the difference between Nova-FIS, NovaHAT and the modules?
Nova-FIS works on its own. NovaHAT is a fuller base (sound, Bluetooth, diagnostics, display) that modules such as Nova-Link will plug into. The complete kit will bring it all together.
Installation
Do I have to cut any wires?
No, never. The box plugs in between the head unit and its original connector. Unplug it, and everything is back as it was.
Can I fit it myself?
Yes, if you know how to take out your head unit. An illustrated guide and a video are planned. We'll publish the fitting time once we've measured it on the car.
Do I need special tools?
For most original head units from that era, you need radio removal keys. The exact list will be in the guide.
What if I sell my car, or it needs to go to the garage?
Take the box out and plug the radio straight back in: the car is exactly as it was. Keep the box for your next compatible car.
Safety and battery
Could it damage my car?
That's our first design rule: no wire cut, and a box that does nothing on its own until you switch a feature on. Every feature is tried on our own car before we offer it.
Does the box touch the engine, the brakes or the driver aids?
No. Nova-FIS only plugs in behind the head unit. It isn't designed to act on the engine, the brakes or the driver aids.
Will it drain my battery?
The box is designed to go to sleep when the car does. We'll publish the real consumption measured on the car.
Will it distract me while driving?
The text appears where the manufacturer intended, in your line of sight. Settings are changed while parked, from your phone.
App and subscription
Will the app cost anything?
No. The basic features will be free, with no time limit. That's a commitment.
What would a subscription be for?
Only for Nova-Link (remote monitoring over the mobile network): the connection and the advanced features. It would be optional, with no minimum term. Price announced at launch.
What do you do with my data?
The bare minimum, and it's never sold. This site uses no cookies and no trackers. It's all set out in the privacy policy.
Will the software be open?
An open development kit is planned, so you can build your own displays. Anything tied to the car's safety will stay under EyKa's control.
Ordering and warranty
When can I buy, and at what price?
No date or price yet. Leave your email in the questionnaire and tick the box, and you'll be the first to know.
Can I pre-order or reserve one?
No. Nothing is on sale and we take no payments. Be wary of any offer that claims otherwise.
What if I don't like it?
Once sales open, you'll have the legal 14-day withdrawal period for online purchases.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, the 2-year legal guarantee of conformity will apply. Any extra warranty will be announced at launch.
Where do you deliver?
France, to begin with. Other countries are being considered.
